Menu for 'best games'?
-
Is there a way that instead of having games based in their own system folders - such as Nintendo, GameBoy, etc. You could have the best games in their own folder?
For example - the best games from each system in one system where people can play the best games without favouriting them. I'm reallllllly interested if this is a possibility.

@nicky_s14 You can do this with custom collections - define your own collection of games/roms. See the wiki page https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/EmulationStation

I've been finding many practical uses for the collections feature. One that I'm particularly fond of is a collection I created of "In Progress" games that keeps me focused on completing them. All-in-all, collections has quickly become one of my favorite features in RetroPie.

@mediamogul I use:
- In Progress
- Featured (for my brother and cousin's builds games I've read reviews on recently they might not know about, basically a hidden gems type list)
- (Person X's) Favorites
- Newly Added

I agree. I also have a "games I'm playing", "backlog", "games to try out" (games I hear or read about here, in old games blogs or podcasts) and even went out of my way to get a "games of the month" where every month I go to each system and select a random game that I haven't played yet from each.

@pjft and to complete this ... I have collections that are named "RetroAchievements" and "RA - Battle Bugs". The Battle Bugs is for challenging games or for the Monthly Random Game introduced here (Currently Mario RPG).
These collections in combination with a small script Automated Switchable RetroAchievements make an automatic connect/disconnect to the RA server possible ;)
So you all see custom collections is a milestone in the ES development. Thank you pjft :D
