Games "Squished"

Hey all,
I was hoping someone will be able to help me with an issue I'm having with retropie. I purchased a build from someone online that comes with a 5" horizontal screen. Everything plays and looks great, but I have some issues with Mame games, in particular Donkey Kong and pac man. I know they're meant to be played on a vertical screen, but with my horizontal display the games look "squished". Is there any way I can change the aspect ratio to fix this problem? -
@kessler94 Press Start+X to open the RetroArch menu, navigate to Settings -> Video -> Aspect Ratio, and change it to something you like. When you're done, remember to go to Configurations and save your changes.
