@dangbro If you created a .m3u file for both disks, then you also need to name the save (.srm file) accordingly. Try copying your existing .srm to a new file, with the same name as the .m3u file, and when using the .m3u file to load the game and switching disks, see if the in-game save is loaded.

@mitu @BobHarris I created another m3u file and renamed the srm and it loaded my save fine but now when I try to switch to disk 2 I get a ‘failed to set disk 2/2 error’

@mitu I made the m3u in notepad and this is what it was:

Metal Gear Solid (USA) (Disc 1) (v1.0).CD1
Metal Gear Solid (USA) (Disc 1) (v1.0).CD2

I see my error now. I renamed the CD2 file to be disk 2 instead of 1 and it worked.

              Thanks for the help!

hi people, i need help switching to cd2
i made all correctly i suppose....
                my .m3u filename is:
                Metal Gear Solid (I).m3u
my .m3u file content text is:
                Metal Gear Solid (I) (Disc 1) [SLES-01508].CD1
                Metal Gear Solid (I) (Disc 2) [SLES-11508].CD2

no one empty line upside and downside the text

                my game folder name is:
                Metal Gear Solid (I)

                my game folder structure is:
                Metal Gear Solid (I) (Disc 1) [SLES-01508].bin
                Metal Gear Solid (I) (Disc 1) [SLES-01508].CD1
                Metal Gear Solid (I) (Disc 2) [SLES-11508].bin
                Metal Gear Solid (I) (Disc 2) [SLES-11508].CD2
                Metal Gear Solid (I).m3u
                Metal Gear Solid (I).srm
                Metal Gear Solid (I).state

i suppose it's all correct, but disk 2 it do not continue the game, but start disk by the game main menu, instead to correctly charge continuing the game.

                -i push select -y
                -i go into: disk control
                -disk cycle tray: eject
-disk index: changed by 1/2 -> to 2/2
-than i select: Metal Gear Solid (I) (Disc 2) [SLES-11508].bin
-it ask me to select pcsx lr rearmed core (it is the only option available)...
                -i push OK
...but it start from the game main menu, instead to correctly continue the game by disk 2...
                please help me :)

@smokingman It would be nice to start a new topic instead of commenting on old related topics. You seem to be stumbling on this issue when doing disk switching, can you verify this ?

                    ops sorry :)
anyway, yes it is my issue-> https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/5642
but sudenly NOW i found a work around that do not require update files or modify anithing, and it work:
                    -i go into: disk control
                    -disk cycle tray: eject
-disk index: changed by 1/2 -> to 2/2
-now push again disk cycle tray to colse it.
                    -exit by retroarch menu
-disk 2 is correctly charged, push start, and solid snake is starting the disk2 of his adventure finally !!!!

                    :-)

@smokingman The 'workaround' is how you're supposed to switch disks - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/#disc-swapping-for-multi-disc-games-in-retroarch.

what i read into this guide is that it is supposed i open eject disk tray, and than switch index to 2/2, and then the guide suggest to select the disk2.cue or .bin file.
if i do that i say it do not work.
it work only if i DO NOT select the disk2.bin or cue file.
it is enough to set index on 2/2, and push again disk tray cycle to close it, and quit the menu.
the guide do not claims that.

but tanks anyway to help me, really bro :)
