Been searching all over and it seems to be a recurring problem for the last few years, but also seems to work sometimes.

Attempted yesterday with Linux Mint 19 32-bit Tara xfce and everything else including lr-mupen was successful but n64 games are a pretty critical part of the build and 64 bit breaks ps2 functionality.

Hardware is a 7th generation intel NUC.

Error is GlideN64/projects/cmake/plugin/Release/mupen64plus-video-GlideN64.so not found. Error log indicates problems with i386 architecture.

@knightofdespair Can you post the log file (preferably somewhere on pastbin.com) ? Also, please give more details about your system - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@mitu I can add a log file in a bit if needed, the issue has already been hinted at by other posters but no mention as to what the source of the problem is and if 32 bit has simply been abandoned or will eventually be fixed again.

It is easy to replicate, install 32-bit Ubuntu/Linux Mint and run the basic install script (4.4.1 6/29/18)

I'm avoiding 64-bit on purpose because it broke PCSX2 inputs which work normally on the 32-bit install.

@knightofdespair If it already has been 'hinted', then it means it's an upstream problem and there's nothing that RetroPie can do to fix it.

@mitu The hints are all over the place, 3-4 different issues with no clear mention of what the resolution was. It seems to be caused by the GlideN64 plugin failing to compile, which blocks the whole emulator from compiling. Some of the posts on the other thread are from January, if it has gone unresolved that long and will never get fixed I can probably just dual boot with Windows and toss another SSD in for $60 but I'd rather not have to.

Tried it straight from the source code and it is doing the same thing. I'm not familiar enough with where the files libpng.a and zlib.a come from or how to modify the compile to make it work.

@knightofdespair without the build logs there's not a lot we have to go on.

Fix in the other thread worked for me.

Thank you for the report. One thing I didn't test was actually running the emulator - did you get a chance to start and test a game ?
