Hello, I am complete noob and do not know where to find the required information.

Pi Model or other hardware: (B+ (I think)
Power Supply used: (If using a Pi)
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest):
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website, Berryboot, or on top of existing OS etc.. - please provide the filename of any image used)
      USB Devices connected:
      Controller used:
Error messages received: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libcofi_rpi.so' from /etc/ld.so.preload cannot be preloaded (cannot open shared object file): ignored.
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant):
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable)
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE U

So, I will give the full story of how this came about.

I was trying to add a ROM using a USB. However, after I pulled it out of the pi and back to my computer, added the ROM, then back into my pi, all my ROMs had disappeared. At this point, I did not know what to do, so in the Retropie Configuration menu, I did update, and core installs, and main installs, and a bunch of crap I probably shouldn't have. I then turned on parse gamelists and the emulators and ROMs, reappeared, but when I tried to play, the screen would go black and then exit back to the game list.

At this point my pi also started freezing and shutting down. I seem to have fixed this my lowering the overclock settings. Additionally, new emulators and games have appeared that I did not have beforehand. I thinking this added data is why my previous overclock settings are no longer working. I want to remove them but am not sure how.

The error code began to appear everytime I booted up. Using WinSCP i found that all of the ROMs were in the localroms folder, but not the rom folder. I moved them back and now the games work.

However, when I go into the Retropie configuration menu, and click an option, like "wifi", I am not able to do anything. It just flashes the error code and remains on the same screen.

Please let me know what I can do, and be as explicit as possible, as I really do not know what I am doing.

      Thank you

You should probably save your ROMs and reinstall, looks like a filesystem corruption.

@mitu How should I do that? I don't think the "uninstall retropie" option in the menu will work.

So you got it pre-installed - we don't support 3rd party images. If you want to re-install, follow the documentation - it's really easy to get started.

@mitu would it reinstall the emulators too? Or would I need to reinstall those too?

Could I also reinstall the base software and updates using:

                  cd RetroPie-Setup
                  sudo ./retropie_setup.sh

                  ?

                  Thank you

@dirtyd369 Installing from an image will install the base emulators also. Using the RetroPie-Setup script and choosing to update all packages will also re-install the emulators, if it would work.

So I have reinstalled from image, but when booting up I get stuck on login prompt.

My usb keyboard is broken so I can't type it in, and SSH can't find the connection. Is there a way to input the login info directly into the config file of the SD?

Unfortunately not. You'll have to either enable and use SSH and re-enable autologin again or find a keyboard to log in directly. See this topic for the autologin problem - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/18582/auto-login-not-working .
