Standard step up for Fightsticks/ Arcade Controllers
-
Hello I'm new to retrogaming scene and just learning.
I bought some PS3 fightsticks with Sanwa parts and was wondering if there is a standard or typical mapping in the main (ES/Retroarch?) that folks used to make life easier. Like like which buttons on the fightstick to map to B,A,X,Y, R1,L1, etc. that makes its less work to remap individual games from MLP or similar images? Or is there no typically setup and everyone has to map each game individually?thank you

Default mapping for 8 buttons PS4 sticks are like this :
Y X R1 L1 B A R2 L2
But for capcom-fighting games this one is better :
Y X R1 R2 B A L1 L2
Note that Retroarch has a native option to switch from the first to the second, so I personally configure the first one on ES, and just use the RA option for the capcom game that need it.

@jtg79 My recommendation for lr-fbalpha : set "modern" as device type in "Retroarch menu > Quick Menu > Controls" and use the following :
Y X R1 L1
B A R2 L2
Capcom games will work properly with this.I know lr-mame2003+ has a similar setting, i don't know its whereabout and its name though.

@barbudreadmon That's the option I was talking about, thanks.

Capcom games will work properly with this.2003+ has three settings the compatible fba standard in controls (gamepad)

6 button the (same as fba i think)
