      @Clyde Look here.

      Thanks, but I didn't notice the narrator mentioning (missing) menu music, and the video in the background is without sound anyway. Did I miss something?

      That said, I spotted another flaw or at least a missed opportunity in the narration:

      "Sony said, it doesn't feature support for other controllers to be plugged in, or for the controllers to work on PC."

      Why?! Why make another proprietary mess if you already use USB?

      Although it's a tiny improvement to the (S)NES Minis with their proprietary connectors, its worthless to the customer until some third party comes up with a hack or adapter.

      Also, although 720p being the only resolution is no problem for me, especially since it's my projector's native resolution, good luck with any display that can't handle 720p like my DIY arcade cabinet's 1600x1200 monitor from 2006.

      @BobHarris So, until I missed something in @thelostsoul's link, I have to suspend my verdict about menu music until it's certain. I agree that the music of Demo One would fit very nicely. Another option would be to play a loop of in-game music for each game that is selected, short enough to not require a license, if that's legally possible.

      edit: some typos

        @Clyde It is mentioned here:

        It makes little beep noises when scrolling between games, that's it.

          @BobHarris Thanks for the video. So, there really is no menu music. 😞

            @Ivan1606 This is wrong thread to ask for this. You can create your own thread and it is the best to ask which system to buy, instead of linking to a site where to check what you want. Otherwise this could be seen as an ad.

              All pretty crappy "cons" imho :

              • switch's not so many games : i already own 37 games on mine, and they are all really cool
              • psp's on/off placement : is that an issue ?
              • 3ds's no ac adapter : well, yeah, you'll have to spend 10$ for this, huge deal imho
              • psvita's need for a memory card : and other handheld needs micro-sd, so ?
              • 2ds's no 3d : so no headache, is that actually a bad thing ?

              I own or owned all of those handheld, my advice :

              • if you want a handheld console with a battery that lasts for long travels, go for the psp
              • if you want some modern console with many great games, go for the switch
              • if you want to turn your console into a retroagaming console by jailbreaking it and installing emulators, go for the psvita.
              • 2ds's form factor sucks, i sold mine and bought a new3ds, nice handheld, however i think it is too pricy considering it's reaching its end of life.

                    So disappointing. I think I might wait until they end up on ebay, pre-owned, and a lot cheaper than new.
                    The form factor is great, and looks infinitely better than those 3D-printed cases you see on ebay.
                    I will get one, just to complete my Sony collection. But I might also get a pre-owned cheap one to take apart, pop a Pi 3B+ inside, and use it just for PSOne games. I have a huge collection of original boxed PSOne games, nearly 500, so I might just end up dumping the lot to a sdcard and using a Pi just for PSOne only.

                        So, turns out you can access the emulator settings of the PlayStation Classic by plugging in a keyboard and pressing Escape ..which allows you to use multiple save states, scanlines, change games to NTSC for 60 FPS and so on

                          This is probably what Sony are currently doing, after hearing this.

                                Its so weird/lazy Sony didnt enable these settings in the UI by default..
                                Gonna go home and test out some keyboards.

                                I think we`ll be able to flash/mod/firmwareupgrade this beauty within a week. :)

                                      I wouldn't mind picking up a classic a bit later if the price drops if only for the controllers and to gut to use as a case for a raspberry pi. In the meantime though I've been making my own as well just using a standard raspberry pi case and ps3 six axis controllers.
                                      As always I can't resist and have to make a theme as well to go with it so I've been working on one inspired by the PS4 menu.

                                        @ruckage Where do you live? In the Netherlands prices have already dropped from €100-120 to as low as €50,-. It's a well deserved loss for Sony imo. The design is great but I won't buy it just for that. Do you want the controllers for the original feel of them? I wouldn't want to go back from Dual shock 4 to the first Playstation controller.

                                          @ruckage That looks great! It is such a bitter irony that private individuals create user experiences in their free time that are far superior to that what a multi-billion dollar corporation does deliver (after a smaller 1-2 billion dollar corporation already did it better).
