-
hi, i try it now for ~4 hours and dont find a solution.
have put the cfg + .png file in the folder: "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/overlay"
then i started a game from n64 emulator (with lr-mupen64plus) and got into the retroarch configuration.
-> screen overlay -> choosed the config file -> save configuration-> restart . overlay didnt work
my aspect ratio is 4:3 on a 1080p TV
any solutios?

Does it work if you add the overlay, manually ?
Run the N64 emulator + game, goto Retroarch/screen overlay, and instead of loading the cfg file - browse for the overlay png and add it manually. If that works, check if the cfg points to the correct place for the png overlay ? -
hm do you see the black field in the middle? i think thats the overlay, but why its black? when i make it bigger, dont show on the black bars

Make sure the n64_overlay.cfg is pointing to the correct png file.
For example, copy the cfg file to your PC and open it with a text editor and you will see something like this.
overlays = 1
overlay0_overlay =nxxxx_overlay.png
overlay0_full_screen = true
overlay0_descs = 0Just make sure the name of the png in "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/overlay", matches what it says here
overlay0_overlay = nxxxx_overlay.png
Obviously nxxxx_overlay.png, is just me adding a placeholder name. But make sure that line matches your png file.

have tryed it manually to add the path for the overlay.cfg in the retroarch.cfg from the n64.
tryed it automatically over the retroarch GUI.
the names are all correct in the overlay cfg.
tryed it with the custom aspect ratio from the overlay...etcall didnt work, im really exhausted
//EDIT: i try it when im home on a other TV/Monitor, maybe its the TV

//EDIT: im an idiot. overlay was in 2560 x 1440 and not 1920x1080..it works now lol
