Save State Not Working After Auto-Login Enabled
-
Hey Everyone,
New to the Raspberry Pi, just set up the device with RetroPie and I'm having this issue. If I go into the system configuration and set the system to Auto-Login as the default user I can't save or load my game states. However if Auto-Login is not enabled this feature works normally. Is there a way to have the Auto-Login enabled where I don't have to sign in, but to still have this feature set up?

@Kentinator The RetroPie image has auto-login enabled and almost everyone running RetroPie is using this configuration, without any influence on the emulators running. It might be related, but it's not something that has been reported until now and I don't see the save states in RetroArch not working as a direct consequence.
Please add the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
Try to provide a log file when this saving doesn't work - the file is/dev/shm/runcommand.log
. You should start the game where you're trying to save the state with Verbose Logging enabled (from the Runcommand launch menu. Try to save the state, then upload the log file to pastebin.com to take a look. -
Hi Mitu,
Sorry about not posting that information, must've missed that post. I started collecting the data, but while I was running through it I decided to run the following commands:sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install alsa-utilsAfter that my save states worked normally even with auto-login enabled. When I originally updated the device was when the save states stopped working, but I guess now that has been figured out :)
