[PS1 PAL] Final Fantasy Problems
-
Hi everybody! I'm a rookie in the world of emulation. I've got a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ with Retropie v4.4. Also thanks to your guides I've installed all I was looking for but I've got some problems with 4 roms for PS1. If anyone has some time and patience to reply I will be very happy:
-
Final Fantasy VI PAL and Final Fantasy VII PAL: these games start but they don't respond to controls in any way. I got the bin files from my orginal copy of both games using ImgBurn. I've read that these games are problematic, but if someone has a solution and want to share I will be grateful.
-
Final Fantasy VIII (PAL Ita), Final Fantasy IX (PAL Ita): For the first one I had to get bin files from the web because I've got a problem with ImgBurn. FF9, instead, I used my original copy. Both they don't start, only an endless black screen. I read here that there are some problems about LibCrypt and I tried to patch them but nothing to do. Someone has any ideas for what mistakes I'm making??
Thanks a lot from Italy for your help!

@Davedrumx HI, you are welcome here. I can only recommend to fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first and post the information here. This way you help the person who is willing to help you and you most likely get an answer. Do you have other games than those 4 roms on the PS1? And if yes, do they work as intended? At least on my side Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9 works (US version on my system).
On a side note: I don't recommend to play FF6 on PS1, because of the incredible long loading times each time a battle or scene happens. Besides the gallery, I don't remember of any improvements over the SNES version. As you are on RetroPie, I highly recommend you to play the SNES version instead of PS1. If not, its fine, it is just my recommendation. :-)

@thelostsoul Pardon, you're right.
Model: Raspberry Pi 3 B+
Retropie v4.4 built from pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
Power Supply: Shenzhen Sunshine Technological Switching Power Supply [Input 100-240V - 50/60 Hz 0,5 A. Output 5V - 3000 mA]
MicroSD: SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSDXC UHS-I card with Adapter - 100MB/s U1 A1 - SDSQUAR-200G-GN6MA.
Controller: CSL - Wireless Gamepad
PS1 BIOs: SCPH1001, scph5501, scph101, scph7001.Yes, I have a lot of PS1 games and they all works except these four games. Following your answer I tried to download FF6 and FF7 in US version (converting FF7 in a .PBP format): FF6 now works fine (but I will play it using SNES version as you told me). Instead FF7 still don't works, it doesn't respond to the commands. I had only SCPH1001.bin BIOs and I tried to add scph7001, scph101 and scph5501 but it still doesn't work.
I'm trying to think that I need a EU-compatible BIOs for FFVIII and FFIX (I'd like to have them in italian language) but, looking on the net, it seems that all BIOs compatible with lr-pcsx-rearmed are related to US version of PS1 (although many other PS1 EU games works extremely fine). Someone know which BIOs is compatible with EU versions?
Thank you very much!!

@Davedrumx I know this is quite old topic but I believe the thing you are.. or atleast were looking for is SBI Files for certain PS1 Pal games. They can be downloaded from psxdatacenter and possibly from other places too like internet archive.
