Audio lag - Retropie x86
-
I'm running RP 4.4.12 on Ubuntu 18.04.2
Hardware is an Intel NUC (NUC7I5BNK) which is connected to my Samsung 1080p TV through HDMI.After playing for some time, changing games and consoles the audio begins to stay behind/lag. It is very noticeable in games for instance when you're selecting a character.
The character is already selected and the character select sound is coming 1 or 2 seconds behind. Also you hear it very well with the EmulationStation navigations sounds.Rebooting the system or changing the television input to a different input (for instance HDMI 2 or TV) and changing it back to HDMI input where RP runs 'solves' the problem. This is not really a fix, rather a workaround.
I do not think this is a problem with Retropie perse but maybe other people here have had the same problem...? I can't be the only one with such a setup?
Hopefully some one can help me out here? -
Try disabling PulseAudio and use Alsa directly ?
-
Sounds good. But how can I do that?
I've disabled PulseAudio by doing:
sudo nano /etc/pulse/client.conf
autospawn = noBut now I don't have sound at all.

Any one that can help me out?

Remove the line with
autospawn=no
to get your sound back, then try the advice in https://askubuntu.com/questions/1033405/crackling-and-delayed-sound-after-upgrading-to-18-04 (3rd answer) - make sure you reboot afterwards. -
Thanks for the reply.
Removing the lineautospawn=no
enabled PulseAudio again if I'm not mistaking.Already tried the 3rd answer on that thread with no luck.
