Emulation station

My retro pi box has been working perfectly for 2 and a half years but recently when i turned it on it now wont go beyond the emulation station loading screen!? Its connected via a wireless ps 3 controller but just cannot find a way to bypass this screen have tried the reset button, leaving it all completely unplugged and so on but nothing😩 not sure if its the actual box itself although it still registers the ps3 controller or the 64gb san disk card? Please help
