Reicast - Change configuration of the ontroller + savestates ?
-
Hello everyone !
I'm working on RetroPie on Ubuntu. How to set up a controller under RetroPie with Reicast ? How to access the menu of RetroArch to change settings & make savestates ?
Thanks :)
-
Reicast is not a RetroArch emulator (unless you're using
lr-reicast
, now renamed tolr-beetle-dc
), so there's no menu. You can configure your joystick from the RetroPie-Setup script if it's not already configured - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Dreamcast/#controls. -
@mitu thank you for your answer it's a little complicated for me because I use a controller that is not referenced ...
I will try the other core ... he also has the savestates ?
Thanks

Yes, it should have. Make sure you have updated the RetroPie-Setup script, since the name has changed recently.

@mitu I have updated the script but my controller is not recognized with Reicast ... what to do ?
-
@Sebiohazard Please add more info about your system - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
If you are using the RetroArch core (now it's named
lr-flycast
), do you get a message at the start of the game with 'Controller Xyz.. not configured' ? Is your controller working in otherlr-
emulators (NES/SNES/Megadrive) ? -
@mitu I use the Reicast core ... it's not right? No I do not get a message ... with other emulators the joystick works well
PS: What is the key combination to access the RetroArch menu ?

Is the name of the core
lr-flycast
?PS: What is the key combination to access the RetroArch menu ?
It's
Hotkey + X
, so if your Hotkey is set toSelect
, useSelect + X
. -
@mitu how to know what is the core ?
-
@Sebiohazard The name of the emulator appears when you start a game, in the Runcommand splash screen, between parentheses. This is where you also switch between emulators - it's not enough to just install the new emulator, you'll have to select it also when starting the game.

@mitu I'm going to look at it thank you very much !
