Hello. I've installed latest version of RetroPie and I have a problem with running games from snes, like for example Chrono Trigger. Some games are working, some games give me error that file is not found. The files are there, and the names are corrrect (I can't upload screenshot as a proof that everythig is all right with those files). It's happens with lr-snex9x or snes2005 and so on.
Games are stored on external hdd. I've tried psx games, Atari, Amiga or pc engine and so far everything working fine, except snes. -
If you drop to the shell can you type
ls -l "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/snes/Chrono Trigger .smc"
and what is the message then? Best guess is you just have some file name issues, I generally don't use spaces in filenames to avoid such problems as this but as long as the space counts are correct it should work.Could also check just
ls -l /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/snes/
to make sure the files are indeed there. -
From first command:
pi@retropie:~ $ ls -l "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/snes/Chrono Trigger .smc" -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 4194816 May 19 1997 /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/snes/Chrono Trigger .smc
And after typping second one I see that the file is there:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 4194816 May 19 1997 Chrono Trigger .smc
Half of the games stopped working after I've installed the newer (4.5.1) version of RetroPie. On previous one (4.4) everything worked fine (even with space between name and file extension). I bought another Chrono Trigger rom and it's working.
