Being in the finals steps of assembling my Control Panel that will be utilizing an I-PAC 2, I was laying out the Buttons I need and whence scanning the ones I am not going to use, I've asked myself if there wouldn't be a use for some/at least one of them... At the moment I am thinking about an "Exit Emulator" Button, not by assigning a Button to that function, but by connecting one button to both of the switches for the regular shortcut Start/Select.

Has anyone tried it/experiences with such a Setup? As whenever I search for it, I only getting results concerning the setup mentioned by Ultimarcs Website "Connecting two Buttons to one Switch" (As in Button 1/2 on Top and Flipper Buttons on Side connected as P1B1/B2) and so far I haven't got a single hit with my keywords used for the setup "one Button to two Switches".

You can do that, yes. I had the 1 and 2 player coin switches on one switch so the result was 2 coin-ups on each press.

I wouldn't recommend doing that though. Its better to have things straight forward, especially if you have guests.

The preferred method is to use the IPACs shift key, which doubles your button usage. There is software for assigning keys how you want as well as macros. Did you check that out?

This is how I do it, it's nice have a special key that you can hold down and then turns all of your other buttons (and joysticks) into a special key/macro. Then you have options like exit, pause, configure emu, beat the kids, volume controls etc.

That was one of the reasons why I was thinking about using dedicated buttons for "Hotkeys", as IMHO it is far easier to explain "Exit here this red Button, Save State that one with the record icon and Load this green one here...."

But then, maybe I will get myself into to much things to consider - as this is my 1st Build of a Control Panel I think you two are right to stick with the Basics (Retropies own Hotkeys + I-Pacs Shift - so far I thought to use the Shift ability of the I-Pac to get some of the most crucial Keys for Amiga/CBM64/etc. Games).
And thanks to you both as I now know that it is possible and that with a later (re)build and gained experience I could think again about single button double-links
