    The hotkey is defined in the RetroPie controller config. You can then customize the hotkeys in RetroArch.

    Or I believe you can set up "shift key" behavior in the I-PAC config to do the same thing.

    If you still want separate buttons that's fine, was just a personal preference to have my controls be minimal.

    I haven't installed any leaf buttons/sticks myself, I guess you can check the other forums here or google around for more info.

    @wstanek said in I-PAC2, connecting 1 Button to 2 Switches?:

    I wouldn't recommend doing that though. Its better to have things straight forward, especially if you have guests.

    That was one of the reasons why I was thinking about using dedicated buttons for "Hotkeys", as IMHO it is far easier to explain "Exit here this red Button, Save State that one with the record icon and Load this green one here...."

    But then, maybe I will get myself into to much things to consider - as this is my 1st Build of a Control Panel I think you two are right to stick with the Basics (Retropies own Hotkeys + I-Pacs Shift - so far I thought to use the Shift ability of the I-Pac to get some of the most crucial Keys for Amiga/CBM64/etc. Games).
    And thanks to you both as I now know that it is possible and that with a later (re)build and gained experience I could think again about single button double-links :cheers:

    @Shandower
    i do read posts, but considdering that you wrote "out the box" i assumed you installed xarcade2joystick via the retropie setup script.

    either way, if this works for you, then it doesnt really matter anyway

    @jlr Glad you found the issue, but you are right, it is strange that it did not work just remapped.

    One thing I will mention is that lr-mame2003 actually sees two simultaneous inputs. The first input is the one that was probably remapped in ES and RetroArch configurations so it was fine for FBA and others. However, this version of mame ALSO SEES a RAW keyboard input alongside the retroarch virtual gamepad remap. It is strange, I know, but I wonder if MAME was seeing your raw left/right with the remapped one and together, they were cancelling each other out.

    In any case, better to have it wired properly anyway.
