Table Top Arcade
-
After a lot of time and effort I've finally finished my custom table top cabinet and I couldn't be happier! The woods used were blue stain pine and red wood, I think the compliment each other really nicely and give the cabinet a unique look.
The cabinet features an ergonomic angle, a prop for maintenance, a Pi 4 4gb with an ice tower cooler, a 4tb hard drive, a power supply, a surge protector, the iPac 2, and happ buttons/joysticks.

Wow, this looks extremely well built and unique. Congratulations!
What are the second white buttons for? (One would be coin/select, but the other?)
-
@Clyde thanks for your feedback! Those buttons are wired to 1A/1B and 2A/2B on the iPac. Here's an image of the encoder so you can get a better idea.
-
Thanks, but I meant what you are using them for.

@Null-Reference love it! Great build. You did all the woodwork on it too?
-
@Clyde they are currently mapped to select and start respectively but I will likely remap them later.
@celly Thanks! I did do all the woodwork as well. I documented a lot of the work on my pinterest if you want to check it out. https://www.pinterest.com/chaseclaar/custom-arcade-cabinet/?invite_code=f6a5f1cac46c4d15bdad539e0d974ecd&sender=852658279359276538

@Null-Reference Sorry that I keep asking, but why did you map them to Start if you have dedicated Start buttons? Do you have plans for the second ones of the pairs of unlabeled buttons?
I'm just curious about other people's controller concepts. :)

That's unique "RETRO" for sure. :-)
Well done! -
