lr-pcsx-rearmed isn't working on a fresh install
-
I think the BIOS is ok - shows that it loads in the log file.
@UberMongoose Can you update your RetroPie-Setup script first and then re-install from source the emulator ? There have been some changes recently to the emulator that needed adjusting the RetroPie build instructions also. -
I completely glazed over that line...
-
I tried reinstalling again, still nothing. =(
-
@UberMongoose Did you update the RetroPie-Setup script first ? What's the version of RetroPie shown in the setup menu ?
-
@mitu Yep, 4.5.17

[INFO] [Environ]: UNSUPPORTED (#57).
I think that means you need to set pcsx_rearmed_psxclock to something different, like 55. The default is 57, but it doesn't always work.Edit: Actually, I see the same line in my log when I launch a game, and it works fine. But that "bogus memory" bit near the end has been reported:
https://github.com/libretro/pcsx_rearmed/issues/350
Same game, similar log. No resolution to that report, unfortunately.

@rejesterd said in lr-pcsx-rearmed isn't working on a fresh install:

That's a red herring. As you noticed, you get the message on a working configuration also.
@UberMongoose are you sure your BIOS/image file are ok ? Might worth checking the
.cue/.bin
files agains the Redump database.
On a stock RetroPie PI3B install, the games runs fine - I updated the emulator from binary and the game runs fine.As for the other issue - check if your gamepad configuration needs to toggle the controller type to analog/digital, some PS1 games require it, see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/#the-controller-problem-digital-only-analog.

@mitu I tried a few different BIOSes and games with no luck. Makes me wonder if there's just something wrong with my Pi, but everything else works fine, so it's a head scratcher. No luck changing the gamepad configuration for Oddworld, either.
Anyway, thanks for trying to help. It's nice playing old games on my CRT using my Pi, but I'm about ready to give up and just play on my regular computer.

I revisited this and, despite having tried a few BIOS sources in the past, tried another one and it worked. Problem solved.

Avoid doing a basic install or update retropie after your fresh install. For some odd reason updating or doing this causes rearmed core to stop working.
