Bluetooth isn't working while PS3 Controller are installed
-
Hello there,
I'm quite a noob with raspberry stuff and I got a lot of answers in the net. But there is a problem, I've got, I diddn't find an answer yet:
I got a Raspberry Pi 4 B. Running the latets Retropie Version v4.5.1.
Everything works just fine. But since I installed my PS3 Controllers in Retropie, my bluetooth connection to my keyboard/mouse doesn't work anymore. I tried some changes in the retropie-config, but nothing worked. Has anyone the same problem or even better, has anyone a solution to this PS3-bluetooth-conflict? -
This is a well known limitation of the
ps3controller
driver - it replaces the Bluetooth stack with its own and you'll not be able to use other devices.Use the
sixaxis
driver instead - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/PS3-Controller/#using-the-retropie-setup-gui-to-configure-the-ps3-controller-bluetooth-connection-for-sixaxis - and remove theps3controller
driver. -
Thank you for this very fast answer!
I tried once, as u suggested, to istall sixaxis instead. Bluetooth still didnt work. But maybe I made a mistake. I'll try again an report here :) -
Now its working!
After deinstalling the PS3 Driver, it showed me "connection failed - gdbus error: org.bluez.error: failed input/output error" when i tried to connect my bluetooth mouse and keyboard.
I had zu install pulseaudio and activate it. After that Bluetooth connection worked. :) -
Sorry, I wrote too early. It still istnt working. Even with PS3 Controller deinstalled there is only a few seconds bluetooth connection available. After that it says always: "connection failed - gdbus error: org.bluez.error: failed input/output error" I got no chance getting a bluetooth connection since that. :(

Have you updated RetroPie and/or the OS packages ? Try running and update and say 'Yes' when asked to upgrade the OS/packages. You don't need pulseaudio for pairing a mouse/keyboard, you should remove that.
