i've just started playing this recently and this game seems so good, but on the 2nd level whenever i get to the lion statue that spits fireballs, i whip him and then the floating platform disappears and i die. seems like a glitch. very rarely the platform won't disappear; i'm not sure why. anyone play this game and experience this?

Just played up to that point and it happened to me too.

        It's a glitch.

I forgot to mention. If you like the game, then play the ps1 version called Castlevania Chronicles. It comes with both the original X68000 game and an arranged version.

Don't like how the HUD covers some of the background in the ps1 versions.

bummer - seems like such a great game otherwise. if i ever get past the part on the x68000 version i'll have to save! thanks for confirming, and for the extra info.

i don't have ps1 on my setup; i'll give it a try. hopefully it runs ok on a pi3b+.
