Hello all, I'm trying to make RetroPie 4.6 properly configure my Krom Key wired gamepad (https://www.kromgaming.com/en/controllers/key), but I am not succeeding with that.

When I start the RetroPie with another SNES gamepad it configures and works correctly.
However, when I try to start RetroPie only with this KROM gamepad it just recognizes it as a "gamepad" but does not let me to configure any buttons, despite the gamepad's leds being turned on. Then I am forced to put a keyboard to press F4 and cancel the gamepad’s calibration and then RetroPie goes to a black screen of commands ($).

I tested this gamepad on Windows PC, and all the buttons worked perfectly. I think the problem is just that RetroPie doesn't recognize it correctly.

I am not Linux user, so reading on forums I saw that there is a command to check and test the joystick and I ran it:
      jstest /dev/input/js0

The response of the test did not appear correctly, the screen was filled with many repeated results and no button was possible to switch to ON.

I also saw that on the manufacturer's web page they have the drive for windows available for download. (https://www.kromgaming.com/en/controllers/key) Do you know any way to convert this windows drive to RetroPie drive?

Or would you know any other solution that I could try to be able to configure this gamepad on RetroPie 4.6?

Any assistance with this would be appreciated.
      Thank you so much.

      My RetroPie version: 4.6.1 (rpi4 – running on Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster))
My USB gamepad: KROM Key wired gamepad (like Microsoft X-Box 360 pad)
      Controller Type: Xbox 360
My RaspBerry: RaspBerry Pi 4 (4Gb RAM)

Is you controller running in XInput or DInput mode ? Try switching modes and see it makes a difference.

          WOW !!! Thanks a lot @mitu !! ;-)

This KROM X-Box usb gamepad is new, and I didn't know what you meant with X-Input or D-Input.
So I read in the manual and understood.
The problem was because when we just connect the gamepad on the RaspBerry Pi 4 (RetroPie) by default it always starts in X-input mode (PC X-Box) and to change to Direct-input mode we just have to press and hold the home button for about 5 seconds.
Then RetroPie recognized the control normally and it was possible to configure it.

          Thank you so much!!!
