[Newbie] does updating Retropie screw up a theme made for an older version?
-
Hello, newbie here with huge lack of knowledge when it comes to Linux and Retropie. I have a 3B+ and when I enter the command console, I don't really know what I'm doing, I might need some advice before screwing anything up.
So, I downloaded the excelent RetroRama Rampage V.2 image (Retropie 4.4), with the awesome Philz doodles art, but also loaded with content, some of it I wasn't really interested on. I have put many hours customizing that image, but I realized I have to update Retropie in order to have the scraper fixed. Is there a chance I will lose information or screw the theme up? and how difficult will be to fix it if it happens?
Thx!

"So, I downloaded the excelent RetroRama Rampage V.2 image"
That's who you need to help you. We support clean RetroPie images only.

@elbitxo Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
3rd party images are not supported.

Read it already, but I don't really need support with that image, that's not what I'm asking for. I just want to know if updating Retropie will break a custom theme because I don't want to loose all the hours I put on that.
A simple YES or NO is enough, thank you. Please, don't give negatives for the sake of it, I'm asking for help (very little help, just one word), not offending anyone or causing trouble. Thank you.

@elbitxo our preference is to not support third party images in any capacity. please respect the rules of this forum going forward, and do not seek further support until you are running our image.
for the record, on standard retropie updating should not damage an existing theme, but as per https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Updating-RetroPie/, you must take a backup before updating.
