Adding to Favorites or Game Collections
-
In EmulationStation, to mark a game as favorite you need to press the
Y
gamepad button (or the button/key you've assigned to it in the input configuration). -
@mitu ok, I understand that correctly. So, I never assigned a gamepad. I only had originally the keyboard then the ipac. In the global retroarch.cfg input_player1_y = "z" but that isn't working. Meaning, when I press Z nothing happens. Is that what you are talking about, or is there something different to configure?

The RetroArch input configuration doesn't apply to EmulationStation. Configure your keyboard/IPAC in EmulationStation and map the
Y
button, then you can press the mapped button to add the game to Favorites. -
@mitu is there a document or post that describes how to configure the keyword in emulation station? It's been so long since that automatic "detection" of input device that I don't remember. Or is there another file I can look at that would tell me what the configuration is for emulation station input?
Thank you for all of your help and suggestions. I appreciate your time.
-
@spanishsnowman You can configure it just like a gamepad - go to Input Configuration from EmulationStation menu and start configuring it.
-
@mitu Thank you so much. I just went in and redid the input and it's working. I was able to go into my listing and "add" games to my favorites, and even remove them. Thank you thank you thank you. I'm so excited.

@mitu One last question since I have your attention. Before I had remapped this to my ipac joysticks and buttons, my hotkey + f12 would be mapped to "exit" a ROM. I selected Tab as my hotkey, but TAB + F12 no longer exits a ROM. Is there default? Because exiting a ROM back to Emulation station wasn't a choice when configuring the input.
-
The exit hotkey is mapped to the
Start
, so what key did you map for theStart
button, is itF12
? -
@mitu No, I mapped Start to Key1.
-
Then the exit shortcut would be
Tab + Key1
.
