What software are you trying to run, specific to that MSX model ?

That's not what I asked - what software are you trying to run on that MSX model ?
I don't think lr-blueMSX allows the selection of an Al Alamiah machine, the only models I see it supports - via Core options - are listed here.

On the other hand, OpenMSX can emulate that model successfully, if you have the right BIOS ROM files.

Here's a small rundown on how to emulate this particular machine.

                • install OpenMSX from RetroPie-Setup - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Updating-RetroPie/#manage-packages.
                • modify the emulators.cfg file from \\retropie\configs\msx and add a line at the end of the file
                  openmsx-ax170 = "/opt/retropie/emulators/openmsx/bin/openmsx -machine Al_Alamiah_AX170 %ROM%"

                • copy the required BIOS ROMs to /home/pi/.openmsx/share/systemroms. The Al Alamiah AX 170 model needs 2 ROM files:
                  1. ax170_basic-bios1.rom(checksum here)
                  2. ax170_arabic.rom (checksum here.
You'll probably need to enable SSH and use WinSCP to transfer the ROM files, since the folder might not be available via file shares.
                • copy/transfer your ROM to the msx rom folder, then start it from EmulationStation. Use the Runcommand launch menu to choose openmsx-ax170 as the emulator for the ROM, so the right machine type (Al Alamiah AX170) is emulated for that ROM.

The /home/pi/.openmsx is a hidden folder, you need to toggle the Show Hidden Files on in WinSCP to see it - see https://winscp.net/eng/docs/ui_pref_panels.
