Hi! my hotkey is not working properly anymore for all emulators and i cant exit a game or even start playing some games. the only emulator i know for sure that the hotkey is working is nintendo 64. for example when i enter playstation emulator and i want to play medal of honor i cant even enter the game even though all my buttons work and if i try to exit the game via hotkey it doesent work. i have tried some fixes here but nothing seem to work. I should also mention that i have recently updated my retro pie but i dont know which version it is.

Pi Model or other hardware: (Raspberry Pi 3 model B+)( Raspberry pi 2017)
Power Supply used: plugged into a 230 VAC socket
      RetroPie Version Used ( 4.6)
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website)
      Controller used: ps3 controller (original)
      Emulator: Playstaion 1

You can re-configure your gamepad again in EmulationStation, just like in the beginning, and the input configuration (including the hotkey) should be re-configured.

@flamme99 Post a verbose log of the game running - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand/#launch-with-verbose-logging.

@mitu I have stumbled upon another issue now with the controller now which i unfortunately have to deal with before i take on this hotkey issue i have but i tried to launch the game with verbose logging before the other issues came into the picture and i couldnt find the log file which is located in /dev/shm/runcommand.log

Maybe i am doing something wrong?

@flamme99 That file is only accessible via SSH, you can use WinSCP to transfer it from your Pi.

Or, without enabling SSH, you can just copy it after launching the game by exiting EmulationStation and running from the command line:

                cp /dev/shm/runcomand.log $HOME/RetroPie/roms

You can then see the .log file over file shares, in the \\retropie\roms folder.

@mitu I cant seem to get verbose logging going and im trying to do it with a keyboard cause thats the only way for me to start a game in the ps1 emulation. I tried to do it with a keyboard aswell but it doesent work as hotkey isnt working for it either. so there is no way for me to exit the emulationstation (i think). ever since i updated my RetroPie i have had this problem with the hotkey, and i recently updated it again since i did it the last time a few weeks ago.

@flamme99 Did you modify your retroarch.cfg file or used Save Configuration from the RetroArch's RGUI at some point ?

@mitu I believe i have done so and i think i have modified the cfg cause i remember that i checked it a few weeks ago. No idea what i have changed or modified though. I dont think i have used the save configuration from RetroArch's RGUI. I cant remember that i have.

@flamme99 If you modified the retroarch.cfg file, then you can save/backup your current file and overwrite it with the default file, retroarch.cfg.rp-dist, this should eliminate any issues caused by modifications. Do you have the default file present ?
