The buttons "Right top" and "Left top" do not register

A clean Retripie 4.6, Rasberry pi 4 installation is used.
I can register "Right top" and "Left top" buttons, EasySMX gamepad is used, defined as xbox 360 controller.
I.e. in my case I can click on the left and right trigger as many times as I like but the clicks are not registered.
It may happen that the buttons are not working, but I checked on Windows - everything is OK. -
Can you re-install the
xpaddriver and reboot, then re-try the input configuration in EmulationStation ? -
