      Software: 4.6.7
      Raspberry pie 4

I don’t have much to elaborate on this but how do I run mame .184? I’ve already looked around and haven’t found anything. Thanks!

This version of MAME is not packaged in RetroPie. There is lr-mame2016, based on the 0.174 version of MAME, but if you want something newer, you can install mame ,from the experimental section, and this will get you MAME 0.224.

@mitu ok, just for a bit of clarification, both of those will work for .184? Or can I only use the most current name because of backwards comparability. Thanks!

@MeltedPineapple you need to match up the ROM set version to the MAME version. See the Arcade section in the docs.

@BuZz yes, I’ve checked that sheet. It doesn’t have what I want. Since mitu gave me those two options, I was just curious.

@mitu sorry for necroing this thread, but I installed both of those emulator for my .184 Roms but neither worked. I was able to get my metal slug roms working after putting them in now-geo, but no luck for Daytona USA, vs. Ice Climber and Tapper. The place where I get roms only uses .184 for everything so I want to get it working. Thanks

@MeltedPineapple it's not supported. You need to use a ROM set that matches the emulators we include.

@MeltedPineapple Or you'll have to build a supported set like it's described in Validating, Rebuilding, and Filtering Arcade ROMs.

Daytona USA won't run at any sort of playable speed on a Pi.
