I am having an issue where i can't get legend of mana to recognize my controller, I know the solution i think i just may not quite understand the settings in retro arch. I am a bit new to it in general. I was reading online, and it seems i need to enable to analogue on the controller.

I went into Settings > Input > Port 1 Binds (Under device type i change it from RetroPad to RetroPad w/ Analog) I have also adjusted the Analog to Digital Type to left, and none. I am also positive that the settings are saved when i exit retro arch, I also tested the analog stick in the menu for parasite eve and it functions there.

If i remember correctly legend of mana would not work on the PS1 unless the analogue switch was turned on the controller as well.

      Am i missing a setting?

Also is there a hotkey option to turn the analog on and off like on a ps1 controller?

To adjust the analog to digital will not work. You have to change the controller type to dualshock.

When the game is running open the RetroArch and from the options change the Pad type to dualshock. then exit from the game and start it again.

        RetroArch > options > Pad 1 Type > dualshock

My English isn't at a good level.

@windg Thanks for the help i found the option.

In case someone else runs into this issue you need to access the menu for retroarch in game you can do that by hitting your hotkey button + x. I will include a link to the documentation.

@zemaduvant Good idea. We RetroPie veterans forget sometimes that this isn't so obvious to newcomers than it is to us.

I am having this same issue with my f310 game pad and Legend of Mana on the psx. I have tried everything including setting all 8 pads to analog but to no avail. The switch on the back of thr f310 is set to X-Input mode, so the analog should work. What am I doing wrong? I really want to play this game on my retropie.

              Update:
I finally figured it out. After doing the above, I had to save a config file for this game and then hit select and the B-button to reset the game while my settings were in effect. After it reset, I was able to use the controller. I was about to go crazy trying to solve this.
