Some SNES games fail to play after update 4.7.1
-
@bio_hazard1282 do non-rom hacks work? emulators often break support for rom hacks.
-
Did you flash the new update or use the "update" feature within the Pi?
If you did the latter then you will have all sorts of issues. I speak from experience on that one. I re-flashed it and my ROMs ect were still there which was a surprise to me.
I also recommend not using ROM sites to find your games. I have been finding an "S" ton of bloatware on my cpu from those sites that automatically downloaded with the ROMs. There is an internet archive that has great versions of all games that are currently working (for the most part).
Hope this helps a bit.

Regular non-hacked ROMS work fine. I used Multipatch for macOS.
I used two .ips files to patch the ROMS. I did this when RetroPie 4.5, and they worked fine.I flashed RetroPie 4.7.1 with Ubuntu MATE 20.04 Focal Fossa with
dd
and updated packages for RetroPie. -
@bio_hazard1282 Since you're using a PC, try
lr-snes9x
(which is still maintained) orlr-bsnes
. -
@mitu PC? I'm using a R-Pi 3B
-
Ubuntu is not a supported OS on the Pi. I though Ubuntu and I immediately though you're using a PC.
-
@mitu I'm using Ubuntu MATE 20.04 Focal Fossa. I have two SD cards with their own OS. One for Ubuntu, the other RetroPie
-
If you're using a 3B, then
lr-snes9x
should work reasonably well. If it doesn't work with the hacks you're trying out, then it's an emulator issue - one that we can't solved in RetroPie, since we're just packaging the emulators. -
@mitu Is it possible to downgrade some packages for snes9x?
-
No, the binary packages are not versioned and downgrading is not an option.
