Trouble with changing Playstation 3 controllers
-
Hello - Yes, I'm brand new to retropie. I'm not even a gamer. Made one for my son for Christmas.
Yes, I've also read the documentation and searched online and in the forum. I'm still having trouble.I'm using a Pi Zero W (yes, I know) but it's working OK for the basic Atari 2600 type games.
I do have one Playstation 3 wireless controller working with it. But I first connected the controller that the dog chewed on and it's pretty beat up. I'd like to get the other controller that is in good shape working with the RetroPie.
Following the directions, I can get RetroPie to see the new controller in the Configure Bluetooth Devices setup. But I can never get that controller to actually work with RetroPie. Every time I press the Playstation button on the controller after trying to add it, nothing happens. It does show up in the Registered Devices screen. Well, there are two separate Playstation 3 controllers shown there, with different MAC addresses. But only the chewed up controller that was already working is able to actually work with RetroPie. FYI - both controllers have the LED lit under the #1. I thought one should be under #2, right?
I'm not sure what other info might be needed to add here. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks.

Did you install the sixaxis driver before pairing it ?

@mitu
I'm not sure. Wouldn't I have done that when I got the first Playstation controller working?
I ask because I don't really know. I followed a YouTube video directions to get the first dog-chewed controller working (not really knowing in detail what I was doing). One dog-chewed Playstation controller does work with RetroPie now.
I can see the other controller in the "Registered Devices" (both controllers, at the same time actually). I just can't switch between them, or better yet - get them both working at the same time.-- But -- I did get it working just now.
I think the controller itself was locked up. I pressed the reset button on the bottom of the controller and it now works. In fact, they both now work at the same time. This is awesome!!
