Re: Transitioning from Disc 1 to Disc 2 - PSX Emulator
-
@mitu Directly from Disc 2. I load it with
Disc Control > Load Disc > Disc2.bin
-
@bio_hazard1282 Then what's the point of creating a
.m3u
file if you're still loading the discs separately ? The name of the save file depends on the name of the content (ROM/Disc), so the saves for each discs are separate. When you use an.m3u
file to start the game, there is a single save file, so saves done from both discs (in-game) are not lost. -
@mitu I now load the game from the
.m3u
file.
The savestates are there like they should. When I load the game, it loads Disc 1 by default. Is there a shortcut to load Disc 2? I can only load it by going into Disc Control then Load Disc.I tried saving at the ? checkpoint and it seems to save. When I quit with [hotkey]+[START] and reload the game and load Disc 2, it reverts the save (When I saved right before Disc 2) like it never saves at all.

I think I found the sulution to fix my saving issue. I will move the Disc1.srm to the psx folder and just leave the Disc2.srm
I'll see if it works.
-
@bio_hazard1282 you could convert it to a .pbp format then use retroarch eject and next/previous disk functions which will result in a single save file.
-
@vodkanakas I watched a video about that format before, but I don't know how to but my ROMs and my saves in that file format.
I watched that video from GTA Prime, but it doesn't show me how I can convert my .bin files and my .srm saves and .state save state files to that. It would help.
-
@bio_hazard1282 Well i just realized your not using windows. Maybe use this can help. Then your
.srm
and.state
files just name it what you renamed them to whatever the.pbp
name is exampleFinal Fantasy VII.srm
andFinal Fantasy VII.state
. Then it retroarch set the hotkeys for next/previous disc. then your all set. -
@bio_hazard1282
wait why dont you have a.mcr
do you not save in game and rely on savestates? if you do then that will need to be renamed too.just realized i was mixing up platforms.
-
@vodkanakas Cool, thanks.
I just realized I gave out my real IP address on accident O-o
-
@vodkanakas I mostly rely on savestates, and sometimes save in-game. When I move to disc 3 soon, I may encounter problems.
