      I have a retropie with a USB trackball.

      I have the trackball working with lr-mame2003. I did this by creating a rom specific config file with the following:

      input_player1_mouse_index = "2"
      config_save_on_exit = false

      I have a game, Simpsons Bowling, that does not run with lr-mame2003, but it does run with lr-mame2016.

      Unfortunately, I have not been able to get the trackball working with lr-mame2016.

      I am testing using a game that works in both emulators, Marble Madness.

      My research has found articles saying that I need to add the following to ad the following to retroarch-core-options.cfg:

      mame2016_mouse_enable = "enabled"
      mame2016_dial_device = "mouse"
      mame2016_trackball_device = "mouse"

      I have done this, but the trackball is not working.

      Any suggestions?

        Some more info:

        Technically, I have three mouse devices on my system: a real mouse, the trackball and a spinner.

        lr_mame2003 lets you specify which mouse is the trackball. How is that done with lr_mame2016?

          Never mind. It WAS working after all.

          I had to use the quick menu to bump up the trackball sensitivity.

          Once I did that, the game worked fine.
