Hi, I’m having an issue with my Vilros classic PlayStation controller right trigger not fully activating. What I mean by this is when I press it, it doesn’t fully complete what it is suppose to be doing. In Medal of Honor for PlayStation, the right trigger is suppose to bring up the aiming reticle. However, when pressed, it shows it for a split second and then flickers off like I have released the trigger, but haven’t. With Syphon Filter, with the right trigger pressed, he starts to sidestep right then stops. The “action” related to that trigger seems to stop midstream.

Can anyone help? I know my info is vague.

      Thanks!

@matthewlawson3 Did you by any chance map your right trigger as your hotkey?

@zering not that I know of. I did the initial mapping in Emulation station, however. I have been having a hard time getting the mapping correct for actual games and had to go into Retroarch and do some mapping to get it to work right. What should the mapping be in Retroarch to be correct?

@matthewlawson3 Well there's no correct mapping prr say. But your hotkey button will always register as a single input in libretro cores, and it's consistent with the issue you've described.
I would remap my controls if I were you, and use select as my hotkey trigger.

there's diagrams for correct mapping of psx controllers in the docs: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/#configure-controllers

if you do that, everything will be 1-for-1 within games. it may not solve your trigger issue, however.

@zering just to be clear you are saying to remap in Emulation Station or Retroarch?

Is there any way to backup my current mapping?

I have a PlayStation 4 Dual Shock controller that seems to not have this issue with the same mapping. The one with the issue is a Vilros classic PlayStation controller with two analog sticks.
