Bluetooth Controller Pairing to two separate Raspberry Pi's

Hello all,
I've got two separate Raspberry Pi 4's set up as Retropies in two different rooms. I have one 8bitdo controller I want to be able to use on either Raspberry Pi. I've got it all set up, paired and working on one Raspberry Pi. I can't get the second Raspberry Pi to finish pairing with it. Is it some limitation with the 8bitdo controller, that it can't be paired with two separate machines? Anybody else run into this problem or know a way to solve it?
