Issues with both C64 emlators (vice-64 and lr-vice).

RPi3b+
Retropie build 4.7
I just did a reload to the latest build of Vice-64 on 02 Feb 2021. I don't remember what version number. Same for lr-vice. Both are from latest binary builds. Was going to make this two separate issues, but they are related.
- Vice-64: I had this setup and running for years, several builds and never any problems. Now with the newest version o get audio stutters and sounds issues. I changed my SID settings from reSID to SID, it helps, but the quality is not the same. The SID setting looses some sounds and does not emulate as well as the reSID. This was never an issue before. I've read that reSID requires more CPU processing that SID, but that was never a problem before. Now using reSID no matter which one, the sound is choppy and slows down to a crawl. Change is back to SID, all good..but like I said, missing sounds. Very noticable in Dino Eggs and, Beach Head II. Is there any way to fix this? I've tried everything I know, but nothing works. What causes the reSID to have so many issues that didn't seem to exist before?
Lr-vice: so because of the sounds issues in vice-64, I switched over to lr-vice. I love it..BUT... I'm noticing issues with multiple disk games. Games that work fine in vide-64, totally fail in lr-vice. Summer Games II and Winter Games are good examples. I try to load them, and all I get is the C64 READY prompt. Is there something set wrong, or is this a sign of incompatible roms? Naturally, this is preventing me from disk swapping... Do the games that disk swap have to be unzipped already? Mine are all zipped at the moment. I haven't figured out how to organize them so I can have them listed in the game list, but not as disk1 and disk2.
I hope I'm clear in describing the issues. If I'm.not, please let me know what you need. I've run out of ideas on how to fix these two issues and it's leaving me very limited on C64 choices. Ultimately, I'd like to just use lr-vice for all games. But until I learn how to disk swap, and not have a game list with all kinds of duplicate game names, I'm out.
Thanks in advance for the help

I found that with the pi4 at least, the native resolution was set to 4k, I set it to 800x600 and the sound issues were gone. When you launch a game you can set the resolution by clicking x. Now it works perfectly, they recently rolled back a version number for vice due to sound issues (it would stall).

@cmftblynu Thanks for replying. I tried everything but that. It makes sense as the resources to run vice are pretty high on a Pi.
At any rate, I figured out how to disk swap in lr-vice, so I'm sticking with that. After all is said and done, that was the goal. I only used Vice because it ran so well for so long and I knew my way around it really well.
Now that lr-vice64 is up to speed and supported well, I'm going to stick with it.
I even went to far as to tweak the background image by TreyM to look more like my room and desk did back in 1984. Lol.
Thanks again,
