How to Play PSX Games on Retropie? (step-by-step with ...https://raspberrytips.com › play-psx-games-on-retropieI have followed the steps in the guide mentioned above several times however, when I go to choose package pcsx-rearmed and lr-beetle-psx are both highlighted in red text, as apposed to the black lettering of most of the other packages. I am admittedly new to retropie so it is not out of the qustion I am missing something. I have been able to get all other systems to work just not PSX. Could anyone help to point me in the right direction please, I am not sure what step to take next, as I have yet to find anyone else that has had the same issue.
Thank you for your time.

I think the explanation is quite clear - also the reason why those entries are coloured red in the list - :
Sorry but 'pcsx-rearmed' is not available for your system (rpi4)
lr-pcsx-rearmed
is the default PS1 emulator on Pi systems and it's already installed on a RetroPie image. -
@mitu Thanks. I gathered that. However, I see plenty of other users have been able to get it to work. I am trying to understand how. I do not have an lr-pcsx-rearmed in the menu.

I doubt that, since they are disabled (on the Pi4) for a reason -
pcsx-rearmed
is not compatible, whilelr-beetle-psx
is only enabled for PC systems (x86/x86_64), since a Pi doesn't have enough power for the emulator to be usable. -
@mitu Thanks for clarifying. I was saying they have been able to get PS1 emulators to work.
As i posted, I am new to this project. I was following the instruction in the guide I posted in the original link. It specifically referenced both of those programs, which is how I ended up on this path.
Based off your comment that the lr-pcsx-rearmed should be installed already, I am going to assume I have a bad download and I am going to reattempt the install. -

I don't think you need to re-install. Just copy your PS1 games to the
psx
folder and restart EmulationStation, they should show up and you can start playing.
