Any tweaks to lr-mupen64plus to improve graphics without loss of of fps

Using default settings. No other settings changed.
P4 4gb, no overclock running the latest reteopie image
Most games run at full speed, with occasional slowdowns when lots of objects are on th screen (comes with that horrible audio lag too)
Just looking to clear up the textures and get rid of some of the blurring (which I think comes naturally with low Res emulators on a bigger screen)
Shader or setting tweaks welcomed!
