      Hi there,

I'm having trouble using Amiberry from Emulationstation (haven't tried starting it any other way). When I try and start it, it takes a while, screen goes black and I'm being returned to ES. When I look in '/dev/shm/runcommand.log', the error is:

      Executing: bash "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/amiga/+Start Amiberry.sh"
      INFO: --- New exception ---
      INFO: JIT not in use.
      INFO: Segmentation Fault
      INFO: info.si_signo = 11
      INFO: info.si_errno = 0
      INFO: info.si_code = -6
      INFO: info.si_addr = 00000a86

I've found this thread (https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/issues/784) which seems to describe the same issue.
It says this appears to be solved in Amiberry 4.1. When I update the Retropie setup script and build from source, I get the same version as the pre-compiled binary and, as expected, this gives the exact same error.

How should I go about compiling the new(est) version on Retropie which hopefully solves this issue?

Apart from this, what is JIT in this context? I only know it as Just In Time compilation, but guess this means something else here. I don't have a clue as to how to turn it on.
Anyway, hopefully a new version helps me out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Regards!

RetroPie's latest version doesn't install (binary or source) the 4 version - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/30213/amiberry-4-0-released/23. Please add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. Do you have the proper Kickstart files needed for the emulator ?

          Hi,

          Thanks for your prompt reply.
Sorry for not having fully specified my config.
When writing this very post, I was going through the template for it using the link you provided and came across the question 'usb devices connect'. At this point I thought of trying starting Amiberry without having my 2 Xbox (original) controllers connected, which are in turn connected to my USB hub.
And guess what...this did the trick! Amiberry now starts fine. I'm able to reproduce the issue so this is really the problem. Disconnecting either one of the 2 controllers will also work. But 2 at the same time won't work. I'm not having any other issues with both connected at the same time. I have a 5A PSU and never seen the rainbow logo with this setup except immediately after power on (bios screen).

I hope this may help anyone else stumbling upon this in the future.
