Core Remap screentearing after load
This cannot be explained. Video is best.
I made some manual changes to the "config file" for Genesis for my controller. I manually mapped the buttons in the text file. The only other issue I had was the default gamepad doesn't have 6 buttons for RetroArch on genesis. They only support up to 3 buttons. I change this in the Core Controls remap. I changed the control type and then this happens 90% of the time when I load a Sega Genesis game. Do I need to start from scratch? I just started getted things working well and figured out on this controller I'm testing.
RPi 4, 4gb version.
Enable DRM VC4 V3D driver on top of the dispmanx display stack
Overlay setup for proper powercut, needed for Retroflag cases

This is a known issue, also reported upstream (RetroArch). Seems to happen more on the MD core (
lr-genesis-plus-gx) than on others. Try updating RetroArch to the latest version - as a workaround you can reset the game after it loads to clear the screen.
@mitu I assume I can update Retroarch through the Retropie setup menu.
I have tried "reseting the game" that doesn't always work. There will be a different artifact on the screen then.

@mitu I updated to 4.7.13 today and no change. Ugh. Where is the issue logged for this?
Anyway to back out of this core remapping?
In 1.9.4 you can selectively disable the notifications shown on screen, so you could remove the messages shown on startup by adding
notification_show_remap_load = "false" notification_show_config_override_load = "false" notification_show_autoconfig = "false" notification_show_set_initial_disk = "false"
