Can you convert SNES emulator save files from PC to Retropie?
-
So I have a game I'm playing on ZSNES on my PC and I've reached a bit I wanted to reach for years and made a savestate.
When I do this, ZSNES simultaneously saves a .ZST file and an .SRM file. I notice that lr-snes9x2010 on Retropie (my SNES emulator of choice) also uses .SRM files (which I believe are battery saves), but if I copy the .SRM file from ZSNES over to the Retropie, it doesn't replicate my saved game. Nor does renaming the .ZST file to a .STATE file or any other similar tricks.
I've read a few threads on this in various places but never seen an answer from anyone who seems to have any idea what they're talking about. Can it be done, or am I living in a dreamworld?

Save states are emulator specific, so they're not transferrable from an emulator (zsnes) to another (snes9x ?).
Battery saves (.srm) should have a chance of working though - did you rename the.srm
file correctly (ROMNAME.srm) ? Remember that Linux is case sensitive, so the filenames (without extensions) must match. -
@mitu Yep, exact same name, cut and pasted to avoid any errors. I think this is a hopeless case tbh, the saves I'm using behave extremely weirdly and I suspect there's just no chance of transferring them over but it never hurts to ask in case someone knows of a conversion tool or the like.
