      I have a Raspberry Pi Model 3 B v1.2, and I’m running Emulation Station V2.9.6RP.

Okay so I’ve tried 2 different controllers (Xbox One and a USB SNES pad), and I configure them all to the correct buttons as advised in the configure input menu, but my problems every single time are:-

      •Select+Start don’t exit games.
•Some buttons simply don’t work in games; I’ve tried multiple games and different systems. I press a button to jump for example, and I get no input whatsoever.

I know it’s nothing to do with the controllers as all the inputs work on the menus.

I’ve been tearing my hair out over this. Any help would be highly appreciated...

        In Emulation Station.

        Retropie
        Retroarch
        Settings
        Input

        My only suggestion on this.

        Good luck.

Tried looking into that but no luck whatsoever. Thanks anyway.

Do you have any other devices?

If my Xbox One is powered on, it eats many signals from my TV remote.

Incidentally I'm just looking into what I feel is broken xbox controller functionality with sdl on raspberry.
It might just be coincidence as I don't understand what could have changed and I thought I remember my xbox one controller working before. (this is in a non-Retropie app)

For me if I run 'jstest /dev/input/js0 ' (or whichever number) the pad looks like its working. But the mapping doesn't work with sdl2.
My DS4 still works fine though.

Try to reconfigure the gamepad i hope this will fix your problem.

@KeyranTrio666 Please add some info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

Start + Select only works in RetroArch (i.e. emulators that start with lr-) and it's only available for Player 1. What game/emulator are you having issues in particular - just add an example where you expect this to work but it doesn't.

I tried multiple solutions suggested here, but to no luck. In the end, I just started the whole installation all over again and it's working fine now. God knows what happened, but it seems re-installing everything seems to have fixed it... weird.

                        Thanks for the replies everyone!
