mame light gun game cursor not reaching the whole screen

Hi,
I'm running operation wolf with lr-mame2010 and WII remote (using dolphin bar) and it seems like the lightgun cursor is reaching only 1/4 recatangle of the screen.
here is the area it covers:
is there any way I can make it work?
NOTE: when I access the libretro settings in the middle of a game, the lightgun cursor can access the whole area of the screen, but when I exit the settings, it is back to the 1/4 rectangle area. :/

Maybe something similar to this issue ? If yes, then looks like a RetroArch bug that's still under discussion to be fixed.
