Joystick order and Bluetooth gamepad
-
Hi all,
I'm on retropie 4.7, raspberry pi 4 2GB, PSU 5v 3a.
I build my own system with two embedded joystick based on zero delay usb encoder. Everything works well. My problem is with bluetooth gampad (I'm using Sony DS4). I would like to have bluetooth to became primary joystick when connected. With the script "RetroPie Joystick Selection" I can set bluetooth joystick as primary but the embedded joystick will no longer work as primary if the DS4 is disconnected. Is there a way to dinamically change this configuration? -
How did you configure the joystick selection - by name or by index ?
-
@mitu by index I suppose. How can I check it?
-
@pscotto1234 Doesn't it have a configuration screen where you can choose ?
-
@mitu below the tool menu. I never selected "Toggle the joystick selection "by-name" method" so I assume I'm using selection by index.
-
Try using the
by-name
method, since it will look at the joystick name when re-ordering. It's also what the author recommends to use for configuration. -
@mitu I tried to switch to "by-name"method.
I do this:- switch to "by-name" method;
- in "System specific joystick selection" I have all systems on "UNSET"
- in "Global joystick selection" I setted Bluetooth DS4 controller as first joystick and left others to "UNSET"
When I start a game with this configuration, DS4 is the first joystick and it's ok. The weird thing is that if I disconnect DS4, the usb joystick keep to control both players 1 and 2. So if I insert a coin pressing SELECT button I see 2 coins inserted and if I press START to start playing I control both players.

Any suggestions?

Are you disconnecting the controller during game play or you're starting the game after disconnecting the controller ?

I disconnect Joystick only when not in game. I tried to restart as well but had the same behaviour.
