      Controller used: F710 Logitech
Error messages received: crash / freeze

File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable) lr-gw
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)
How to replicate the problem: Open some lr-gw games notably Donkey Kong or Donkey Kong Jnr

I have been using Retropie for years but for the first time have come across a problem I can't resolve. When I try to play Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Junior Game & Watch games they load up as normal. However when I press one of the shoulder buttons to simulate a Game A or Game B the game freezes. I can still exit back out to the game list with a hotkey press. Most of the other games work it seems to be the dual screens where the problem lies. This issue did not occur on my previous Jessie image for the Pi3 and only first started existing after I made a new Stretch image from the retropie website and built it up from scratch for my new Pi4. I used the same roms in the upgrade.

Anyone else having issues and if so is there a solution to get the games running?

Seems your issue is similar to this one, solved with an updated ROM file. I suggest you re-download the game from https://buildbot.libretro.com/assets/cores/Handheld Electronic Game/ and retry.
