Weird Flycast / Naomi Issue...
-
So I'm working on a new CM4 build based on the Pi 4 build that I have had up and running for quite a while now. I had Dreamcast, Naomi, Atomiswave, etc, all up and running perfectly fine with all the roms, configs, and BIOS files in the right place. Works great on the Pi 4. No issues.
Let's move over to the CM4 / GPi 2 build. I grab all the new versions of the emulator cores via retropie-setup and for the most part, everything on the build seemed to be running and working great!
Except Naomi games. Which is odd because Dreamcast games were working just fine.
I went over everything I could think of. I looked to make sure all the correct BIOS files were in place. All the emulator.cfg files were pointing to the right direction, etc.
When I loaded a game, it would start to load up, even get to the point where I would get the messages in the lower left hand corner that things were loading, and then it would abruptly go back to the menu screen.
Then I noticed that in the cores folder the newer version of flycast_libretro.so was a different filesize so I replaced that file with the older version and BAM! It worked!
So if there an issue with the current version of flycast_libretro.so or has something changed?
Here is what the runcommand log says:
Parameters:
Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-flycast/flycast_libretro.so </dev/null --config /opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/A/alienfnt.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'SH4ThrownException'
/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh: line 1304: 29658 Aborted /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-flycast/flycast_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/A/alienfnt.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg < /dev/nullAt the moment, Naomi seems to be working just fine using the older version of the core, so what would be causing it not to be working with the most recent build that was downloaded?

@yfzdude Huge thank you! Not even sure how I missed that post! At least my post offers a solution to anyone who may have an older version of the core still on a hard drive.
