Re: amiberry freezes with white screen when starting games

Guys, I'm dying here. I've been trying to get my Amiga games (lha) running on a PiBoy with Retropie and Amiberry. I can't get a single game to run. When I try, it goes straight to a white screen and freezes. I've read dozens of posts and tried as many solutions, but none helped.

ROMS and BIOSes are all in the right place.

Any ideas? I'm starting to loose my mind...

Turns out that Amiberry didn't like the Kickstart ROMs I purchased via Amiga Forever. I stumbled upon a different ROM collection that works perfectly fine now. I trusted those AF ROMs blindly without checking the checksum....

@indyviduum The Amiga Forever ROMS are encrypted and need the rom.key in the same folder. I've read that works but I've never used them.

@buzz Thank you for the hint. Here's the official statement.

I purchased the "Plus" Edition. Therefore the ROMs shouldn't be encrypted. But who knows ...

Okay. That made me curious. Interestingly enough, there is indeed a "rom.key" file in the Kickstart folder of my Amiga Forever Plus Edition. Nevertheless, the ROMs do not work under Amiberry even if you put the "rom.key" file in the BIOS folder.

Did I understand correctly that the name of the rom files doesn't really matter because Amiberry does a CRC32 check?

@indyviduum It does a CRC check and a name check to see if it matches one of its known configurations. Otherwise it just uses its default profile.
