ES Custom SVG Logo pack (includes specific Mame logos)
-
Alright, I decided to give it a go and make my own logo for Dosbox. I'm no graphic artist, but here it is. Perhaps a bit busy compared to the default ones... Maybe I will simplify it.
-
@Concat Nice!! Can you modify it to make the computer screen black?
-
Sure. Also, when I saved as a SVG it wouldn't work in my pi. I assume this has something to do with the SVG features in ES as I read someone had a similar problem. The PNG works fine for me though... so screw it :P
I think the last one fits best with the minimalism of the default images.
-
@Concat No problems for me i use windows... I like the last one, where I can download the svg files?
-
I can only convert it at this point. Is there any point in doing that since it won't get rid of the PNG compression? ES handles the PNG just fine.
Sorry... told you I wasn't a graphics artist! Haha...

Converting a PNG to SVG won't work always.
I tried to convert various size PNG images to SVG by simply using the "save as" feature in Illustrator but that will give you a 64bit thing that won't work on ES, at least it didn't for me.
You can use PNGs but that depends on the PNG size and theme you are using. Using a theme that was build on 1080p or 720p will not give you satisfying results. That is why I hope we can get a tutorial.

@FlyingTomahawk Tutorial under preparation.. will take some time ... but it'll come.

Vector Games SVG logo created (see top of this thread).
-
@UDb23 I've posted about a way to use your amazing art here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/10849/create-a-custom-es-system-able-to-launch-games-for-many-systems
-
@meleu MegaMan logo made & ready. Check first post of this thread.
-
@UDb23 really thanks, but I downloaded the
megaman.svg
and it seems to be all transparent:Downloaded one more time to confirm, same result.
-
@meleu What are you using as a vector editor?
-
@lilbud Actually it's not an image editor, it's the default image viewer of Linux Mint Cinnamon: Xviewer.
@UDb23 I managed to put a transparent background on that png version and, you're right, it looks better on dark backgrounds. In basic/detailed view of Carbon, it is really neat. But in the system view, you see an "excess of brightness":
But looks cool in the basic/detailed view:

I could try using a less bright shade of white. What do you think ?
But looks cool in the basic/detailed view:
Is there a way to use 2 different svg files for "system" and "detailed" view ?

I erroneously uploaded a work in progress version... now right file is available:
