      For anyone using a trackball and spinner setup, you may have run into the problem of not having the option to save the corresponding mouse index per game. When switching the mouse index in the RetroArch menu, the change would affect all games. After much searching, I've come to a solution and wanted to share it here.

      On my setup, the mouse indexes are "0" for spinner and "1" for trackball. I'm setting my global default index to "1" for trackball games.

      For spinner games, you'll need to create a .cfg file for each game and name them the same filename as the corresponding rom.

      Use the following line in each config file:
      input_player1_mouse_index = "0"
      (or whatever index your spinner is)

      Place the cfg's in this directory:
      retropie/configs/all/retroarch/config/MAME 2003 (0.78)
      (or whatever version of MAME you're using)

      That's it! I hope this was helpful.
