I've been trying to find a solution with no avail, but for whatever reason I cannot get sound through the built in speaker on Retropie for the GPi Case 2.

I've seen various threads such as,

      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/32998/retroflag-with-cm4-no-audio
      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/31910/no-sound-w-gpi-case-2-cm-4-solved
      https://old.reddit.com/r/retroflag_gpi/comments/rqbgz8/gpi_case_2_cm4_anyone_manage_to_get_sound_with/

Noting fixed such as editing alsa.conf, changing up the config.txt but nothing seems to work. I've tried this too on a new SD card, and even ordered another GPi shell to see if it was a hardware fluke.

I will note, sound DOES work in games, so that's a plus. But anywhere else, on the boot splash, background music, or menu sound are non existent.

I stand corrected, I did a fresh install again/installed safe shutdown script rebooted and seems to be working.

Going to try and reproduce to make sure maybe it was just the config.txt that got screwed up or something.
