2.4ghz controller not working on 4.8
-
I upgraded to 4.8 yesterday and my 2.4ghz controllers are no longer being recognized. I've looked around and can't seem to find anything on this issue. Sooo, I did a clean install of the 4.8 build (on a different SD Card) and still no 2.4ghz USB controllers will work. They worked fine in 4.7 and prior.
I tried a USB wireless keyboard in every USB port and the ports are working, I can even use an XBOX one controller via USB cable and it will work. I also was able to pair that same controller via bluetooth. But not a single 2.4ghz controller will work.
I am running a Pi4-4gb board.
Most current build from the website here. This is the controller I am using. I've been using them on my retropies for a number of years.

I can't seem to find anything. I did install the XBOX drivers to see if that was the issue. But they still are not recognized. I also verified the controller is working by trying it on my pi3 build. Every one of the controllers worked just fine (I have 3 between the pi builds I have).
Also, if I do have one plugged into my Retropie it stalls out booting. But nothing is showing in the error log. It literally just sits there during the boot up process. I even tried a powered USB hub and it still didn't work.
I'm at a loss...I mean this could be "The Verse" trying to tell me I should just upgrade to Bluetooth...LOL.
Anyways, any help or idea on WTH is up here would be appreciated. Like I said, there is NOTHING in the logs. Everything there looks normal.
Thanks for any help...

Besides hanging on boot when plugged in, is the controller still not working if you plug it it after booting ? Did you also update your kernel/OS packages ?
Run the following commands (with the USB dongle plugged in) and post their output:
cat /proc/bus/input/devices lsusb -tv

@mitu it showed up on the list when I did what you asked with:
cat /pro....
But when i typed in lsusb -tv it just sat there and did nothing for an hour.
Needless to say I gave up on getting the 2.4g to work and ordered an 8bitdo this morning with same day delivery. So if you want to delete this post that's fine. everything is working with the 8bitdo Bluetooth controller. Sorry to have bothered you guys.

My 8bitdo Ultimate Wireless 2.4ghz controller with updated firmware also didn't work on the latest RetroPie image.
But I was able to make it work only after updating driver packages --> I noticed that xpad had update.
